Klagenfurt

Nun bin ich also dabei, mich in Klagenfurt einzuleben. Die Umstellung von Land- auf Stadtleben ist gar nicht so einfach. Ich bin es gewohnt, aus der Tür hinauszutreten und sofort in der Natur zu sein, aber hier muss man erst ein Stück fahren. Zum Glück gibt es rundherum genug Wälder und Seen, wo sich eine Moosfrau wohlfühlen kann. Am Abend kann man z.B. einfach mit dem Rad zum See fahren und in den Sonnenuntergang schwimmen, das ist wirklich schön und erfrischend! An das heiße Wetter hier muss ich mich auch gewöhnen, gewohnt bin ich es kühler und wechselhafter. Zu Fuß ist man gleich mal in der Innenstadt, wo das Wahrzeichen und Wappensymbol der Stadt steht – der Lindwurm, der einer Sage nach vor der Stadtgründung hier in den Sümpfen hauste, bis ein Held ihn erschlug und die Stadt so sicher gebaut werden konnte…

Now it is the time where I am getting used to Klagenfurt. It’s not so easy to live in a city when you are used to live in a small village surrounded by nature. You were in a forest nearly as soon as you went out of the house, now there is a lot of traffic, people and houses between me and nature. But if you drive out a little bit, you have forests, lakes and mountains. In the evenings you can take the bike and have a bath in the Wörthersee at sunset, really beautiful! Another thing I have to get used to is the really hot weather here! In the Inner City we have a statue showing a „lindwurm“, some kind of a dragon that lived here in the wetlands before a hero killed him and the city could be build…
